Merry Christmas~Happy Birthday Lane

 Lane Jeremiah Wirth
25 Dec 2002

Lane was not schedule to arrive until the Tuesday after Christmas.  My bags were packed and after we had Christmas with my grandmother and dad, we were to head to Wichita Falls, TX to have Christmas with my son's other grandparents and Aunt.

My sister came in with the phone and told me that Misti was on the phone, so I said hello.  She proceeds to tell me that Lane had already come.  Oh, I was so upset, because she didn't wait for me.  This was her only child that I had not witnessed the birth of.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
MERRY CHRISTMAS

Advent Calendar~Stockings

My Christmas Stocking
In participation with the Advent Calendar of Christmas Memories .
I wanted to share my favorite Christmas Stocking.

The above photo is of my a stocking that was given to me 'bout 1975, by Angie Butler. At the time, my father was dating her and everyone loved her. This particular Christmas, Angie spent many hours making Christmas stockings for my sister and I. She said one day while riding on the ambulance she was finishing up one of our stockings and I don't remember what she said happened, but the sequences went everywhere. She told us her and her partner ahd to spend an hour cleaning them up.

The weekend she came up to give us our stockings, we spent it making Christmas Cookie Ornaments. I remember making Charlie Brown and Snoopy and candy canes and Christmas Tree's and Christmas Bells. We had them for several years until moisture got to them and ruined them.

My little sister has a stocking almost like it.

They have been hung every Christmas since.
That was the same Christmas Angie made Kristi and I our very own "Raggady Ann & Andy". I have always cherished both and still have them.
MERRY CHRISTMAS YA'LL

Blog Caroling~ "Little Drummer Boy"

"The Little Drummer Boy"
Words and Music by:

The song was actually transcribed from an original Czech  Carol in 1941.
Since the orginal came out, many have rewrittend and recorded the song.

Come they told me, pa rum pum pum pum
A new born King to see, pa rum pum pum pum
Our finest gifts we bring, pa rum pum pum pum
To lay before the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,
So to honor Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
When we come.

Little Baby, pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too, pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring, pa rum pum pum pum
That's fit to give the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,
Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum,
On my drum?

Mary nodded, pa rum pum pum pum
The ox and lamb kept time, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for Him, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my best for Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,
Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum.

Ever since I was a little girl "Little Drummer Boy" has always been my favorite Christmas Carol.  So in the sprit of Christmas, I am posting this to join in the Footnote Maven and the other blogging caroler's.  After I became a mom, my oldest became a drummer when he was in 5th grade.  I can remember thinking to myself... "He don't have a music bone in his body".  Well, I was very happy when he proved me wrong.  Michael was awesome at the drums.  Now when I hear this song, it makes me think of him.

Recipe for Life

A little recipe I'd like to share for Life:

1 c. good thoughts
1 c kind deeds
1 c consideration for others
3 c forgiveness
2 c faults, well beaten

Directions:  Mix thoroughly and add tears of joy, sorrow and sympathy for others.  Fold in four cups of prayer and faith to lighten other ingredients and raise the texture to great heights of Christian living.  After pouring all this into your family life bake well with the heat of human kindness.  Serve with a smile!

From "Our Family to Yours"

Have a Merry Christmas Ya'll!
